When it comes to interior design this most definitely holds true. People tend to engage an interior designer because they need to find a supplier who can both understand and translate their vision, and ultimately realise it.

A lot of us take our design inspiration from images we see online, from interior design books that we buy, from celebrity homes featured in the likes of Hello or from Sunday Times Style magazine etc.

As an architect specialising in interiors, my challenge is to walk a fine line between interpreting what my client is looking for and what the space itself is actually telling me.

A renovation of a traditional Glasgow townhouse became an exercise in paring back – letting the bones of the house show through and the beautiful period features tell their own story.
