I am often asked to design for the holiday rental market. These commissions may be less a labour of love for my clients, but they bring their own particular set of challenges.
Each project has to be carefully designed around budget, balancing the practicalities of cost and value against the five-star experience prospective holidaymakers anticipate.
Rooms have to look fresh and modern to make a great first impression, they have to be hard wearing and easy to clean, and I always aim for an individual touch. I am also keenly aware with such commissions that every day that completion is delayed is a day that my client isn’t making money from their investment.
